Who qualifies and how to claim
Current Status
Claims are open in the $32 million settlement between GoodRx, the ad-technology company Criteo and people who used GoodRx before April 20, 2024. The official settlement website, goodrxprivacysettlement.com, was live and accepting online claims as of October 23, 2026, and the online claim form asks for no receipts, documents or notice ID. The deadline is December 29, 2026: online claims are due by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time that day, and mailed claim forms must be postmarked by that date. The court granted preliminary approval on September 8, 2026, and the final approval hearing is set for February 11, 2027. No payment date had been announced as of October 23, 2026.
What Changed Recently?
On September 8, 2026, U.S. District Judge Araceli Martínez-Olguín of the Northern District of California preliminarily approved the settlement in Doe, et al. v. GoodRx Holdings, Inc., et al., No. 4:23-cv-00501-AMO. The order provisionally certified a nationwide settlement class, appointed A.B. Data as the settlement administrator, approved the notice plan and set every deadline that now applies. The settlement website appeared online in mid-October with a File a Claim page, but the claims administrator said it had been switched on only to complete testing, and claims submitted during that phase were rejected as untimely. The site returned a hosting error on October 18 and a maintenance page on October 21, 2026. By October 23, 2026, it was back online and accepting claims, with the December 29, 2026 deadline unchanged. Anyone who filed during the testing phase has to file again. The earlier outage is covered in GoodRx settlement website: claims now open.
The case centers on allegations that GoodRx passed users’ health and prescription information to advertising companies through tracking code on its website and app. GoodRx and Criteo deny the allegations and deny violating any law; they agreed to settle to avoid the cost and uncertainty of further litigation, and the settlement is not a finding of wrongdoing. When the deal was first filed in June 2026, before the court had acted on it, the claim window had not opened and no deadlines had been set; OCA’s earlier report on that stage is GoodRx agrees to $32 million privacy settlement.
Who Qualifies?
The settlement class is all natural persons in the United States who used any website, app or service made available by or through GoodRx at any time before April 20, 2024. That reaches the main GoodRx website and app as well as GoodRx Gold, HeyDoctor and GoodRx Care. The class is not limited to people who received an email notice, and it is not limited by state.
Excluded from the class are GoodRx and Criteo and their affiliates, parents, subsidiaries, officers and directors; Meta and Google; anyone who opts out; and the judges presiding over the case and their clerks.
Meta Platforms and Google are defendants in the same lawsuit, but they are not part of this settlement. The plaintiffs’ claims against those two companies continue separately, so this deal pays only for the claims against GoodRx and Criteo.
How Much Can You Get?
GoodRx and Criteo agreed to pay $32,000,000 into a non-reversionary settlement fund, meaning no leftover money goes back to either company. Before anything is divided among claimants, the fund pays notice and administration costs, taxes, fund account costs, any attorneys’ fees and expenses the court awards, service awards for the class representatives, and any other costs the court approves. What remains is the net settlement fund.
