How much can class members receive?

The total settlement fund is $17,000,000. After deductions for service awards to the named plaintiffs, administration costs, and attorneys' fees and expenses, the settlement administrator will distribute the remaining funds to class members on a pro rata basis determined by the amount of W-2 wages Providence paid during the class period. There is a minimum payment of $25 for every eligible class member.

The settlement administrator will categorize payments as 50% wages and 50% nonwage interest and damages. The wage portion is subject to tax withholding, and the administrator will report it on an IRS Form W-2. It will report the nonwage portion on IRS Form 1099.

No action needed to receive payment

Class members do not need to file a claim or submit any documentation to receive their payment. The settlement administrator will automatically mail checks to the address on file. Those whose address has changed should contact the settlement administrator to update their information.
