Who qualifies and how to claim

Current Status

Claims are open. Claim Forms must be submitted online or postmarked by November 17, 2026. The King County Superior Court granted preliminary approval on August 5, 2026, but has not yet decided whether to approve the settlement; the final approval hearing is scheduled for February 19, 2027 at 9:00 a.m. No payments have been issued and no payment date has been announced. If you received a notice, use the Login ID and PIN printed on it to file before the deadline — this is not an automatic-payment settlement, and class members who do not file get nothing.

What Changed Recently?

Sizzling Platter, LLC agreed to pay between $634,472.50 and $937,650 to resolve a class action filed in King County Superior Court in April 2025. The plaintiffs allege that the company's Washington job postings for Crew Member and Lead positions did not disclose the wage scale or salary range, or a general description of benefits and other compensation, as the Washington Equal Pay and Opportunities Act (RCW 49.58.110) requires. Sizzling Platter disputes the claims, denies that it violated any law, and does not admit wrongdoing by settling; the court has not decided who is right. Judge Taki Flevaris granted preliminary approval on August 5, 2026, and notices went out with claim deadlines of November 17, 2026.

It is one of a long run of Washington pay-transparency settlements — see the Washington job posting settlement tracker for the others.

Who Qualifies?

The class is everyone who, from January 1, 2023 through July 26, 2025, applied for a Crew Member or Lead job opening in Washington with Sizzling Platter where the posting did not disclose the wage scale or salary range or a general description of the benefits and other compensation offered. The company's records identify class members, and it estimates there are about 987 of them. You did not have to be hired.

If you believe you applied during the class period but were left off the class list, the settlement agreement gives you 60 days from the notice mailing to raise it with the administrator, and the company's records control unless you can show documents proving you belong.

How Much Can You Get?

Every claimant receives an equal share of the net settlement fund. The notice estimates that share at $613.71, and it can be higher. Here is why:

Sizzling Platter pays a floor of $634,472.50 as long as no more than about half the class (493 people) files. Out of that come attorneys' fees of up to $281,295, costs of up to $15,000, service awards of $10,000 to each of the two named plaintiffs, and administration costs capped at $15,000. The remainder is divided among claimants, up to $5,000 each; anything beyond that cap goes to the Legal Foundation of Washington. So if fewer people file, each claimant's share rises. For every claimant beyond 493, the company adds $613.71 to the fund, up to a ceiling of $937,650 — which keeps each share at roughly the estimated amount even if most of the class files. These are estimates; the final figure depends on the number of valid claims and on what the court awards in fees and costs.

Payments are treated as non-wage damages and reported on a Form 1099. If the administrator's actual costs come in under $15,000, the difference is added to claimants' payments.

What Proof or Notice ID Is Required?

No receipts or documents are needed, but the online claim form opens only with the Login ID and PIN printed on the notice you were sent, which is why this page is marked proof-required. The claim form itself asks only for your contact details and a signature under penalty of perjury, and the administrator may ask for more information to verify a claim.

What Is the Deadline?

Claim Forms must be submitted online or postmarked by November 17, 2026. The same date is the deadline to exclude yourself from the settlement or to object to it. The notice does not state a time of day for online claims.
